Today's post is about one of the most sold Premium gins around the world: Tanqueray.
It was launched in 1830 by a Londoner called Charles Tanqueray who at his death left its legacy to his son Waug.
Waug inherited a distillery seriously damaged during The Second World War. When the bombing ceased, he decided to move the company to Scotland. Its largest market is the US.
Tanqueray is a type of gin classified as a London Dry Gin. It is so called because of its distillation process. London dry gin is made by means of double distillation. The recipe is a closely guarded trade secret, although it is known to contain four botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root and liquorice.
Clear colour. Very fresh and smooth on the nose with slight hints of juniper and citrus coming through. A good hit of liquorice is present on the palate, with a slight spice that creates a long tingle.
Tanqueray gin's iconic design is known for its green bottle and the red waxed element . Certainly an exceptional choice for those who want to enjoy a good drink with different and unmistakable flavours.
